Dr. Gilman

Dr. Jennifer Gilman was born and raised in Southern California. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at Santa Clara University in the Bay Area. After graduating, Dr. Gilman spent two years working as a research assistant in the Division of Cell Biology at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology during which time she co-authored numerous articles in The Journal of Biological Chemistry and the European Journal of Biochemistry.

Dr Gilman received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Her clinical education involved rotations through Richlin Eye Associates in Beverly Hills, VA Brockton and VA West Roxbury in Boston, VA Fresno, and multiple community health centers in the Boston area. She pursued a post- graduate residency program in Ocular Disease at Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Her residency program involved an intense year of treating patients with complicated eye diseases and performing pre and post-operative care of patients having cataract, retinal, glaucoma, and laser surgeries.

Dr. Gilman has lived in the Coachella Valley since 2003.


Dr. Vorster

Dr. Grant Vorster was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Optometry from Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg). He then established an optometry practice in Botswana at Gaborone Private Hospital.

Dr. Vorster obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry’s Advanced Standing International Program in 2002. He completed a residency in Ocular Disease at the world- renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami’s School of Medicine. Dr. Vorster has published articles in The Review of Optometry and Optometric Management, as well as presented at the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Vorster has also lived in the Coachella Valley since 2003.
